Axelrod: ‘Ask Osama Bin Laden’ If Obama Was Prepared To Be President

In a wide-ranging Tuesday morning interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” David Axelrod pushed back against charges that Barack Obama was too inexperienced to be president.

In response to host Joe Scarborough’s charge that Obama was unprepared to be president at the beginning of his first term, Axelrod shot back “maybe you should go ask Osama bin Laden if he thought he was prepared.”

Axelrod’s comment, along with his subsequent praise of Obama’s policies in Iraq and Afghanistan, is a clear sign that Obama plans to position himself as a foreign policy president during his re-election campaign.

In addition to reminding voters of bin Laden’s death, Axelrod tried out several other talking points that are sure to resurface in the 2012 campaign. He argued that Mitt Romney “represents the Wall Street side of business,” and that Wall Street lobbying is preventing Congress from adopting “common sense solutions” to our economic problems.
